Female Ejaculation - A Brief History

It was not that many years ago that common western held beliefs were that woman did not have orgasms at all and the existence of the clitoris was also questioned by many leading doctors and physicians. As we are now (thankfully!) aware this was complete nonsense that was perpetuated by a sexual suppressed western world and often religious oppression.

The rise of feminism and equality over the years managed to bring about a U turn in this belief system and we are all fully aware that women can enjoy orgasms (even multiple orgasms) and that the clitoris is a highly sensitive and erogenous focus point for women. The result - today's women are (quite rightly!) demanding orgasmic sex - acceptance is so widespread that for many years now you will have seen regular articles on enjoying bigger and better clitoral orgasms across your television, in films and women's magasines.

All the while for hundreds of years Eastern cultures have embraced the female orgasm and there are numerous texts and references to it going back hundreds of years. The most famous of these texts is probably the Karma Sutra. Get your copy of this amazing book by clicking here or alternatively you can get an exclusive Karma Sutra DVD Box Set by clicking here.

Our point here being that what is commonly held as 'true' is not necessarily the case - ie western doctors even in the mid 1900s were still adamant that women could not have orgasms, and yet Eastern cultures have been extolling the healthy virtues of the clitoris and female orgasm for centuries! And we now all know that the western viewpoint was wrong! Women most definitely DO have orgasms!

Similarly Eastern cultures have written about and had high praise for the health giving benefits of female ejaculation for hundreds of years - and yet it is only now in the West that people are starting to talk about the existence of female ejaculate ('squirting'). In Deborah Sundahl's book 'Female Ejaculation and the G Spot' you can find even more information than we can provide for you here - you can buy her book by clicking here now. Many women have come to hear of the G-spot over the last few years - female ejaculation is directly related to this little understood area of a woman's body.  However there have been some important scientific studies of the phenomenum. Joseph Lowndes Sevely made an academic study of the scientific past of female ejaculation and revealed that it had been known about and talked about since the 17th century and even documented that the source of the ejaculatory fluid was from the female prostate - otherwise referred to as the G-spot, which is named after another scientist Ernst Grafenburg who wrote extensively on the subject. Grafenburg did not actually name the G-spot - this honour goes to Ladas, Whipple and Perry who identified in their research an area just inside the vagina that is extremely sensitive, stimulation of which can lead to an intense and unique type of orgasm. They named it the G-spot after Grafenburg's earlier research into this part of a womans anatomy.

However Ladas, Whipple and Perry focussed their attention purely on the orgasmic qualities of the G-spot and largely ignored Grafenburg's discussion of the fluid that seemed to be produced by this area. This is female ejaculate. In other parts of the world research has shown that in some Eastern cultures female ejaculation has been known and revered for centuries.

A later study by the Slovakian Dr Milan Zaviacic finally put all debate to rest on the matter when he concluded that the G-spot is the equivalent of the female prostate - he carried out detailed scientific studies of its structure and the content of the ejaculated fluid down to a cellular level. We will not go into the finer details of this research papers here (see Deborah Sundahl's book for a more complete history) suffice to say that there is now over whelming evidence in support of the existence of female ejaculation.

This is further enhanced by a quick look at ancient history. There are many cultures around the globe where for hundreds of years female ejaculation has been known about, written about and viewed as a perfectly normal and natural part of a woman's body. Indeed in some of these cultures it is actually seen as having healing powers and sometimes sacred powers as well.

Why discuss these ancient views here? Well by seeing that this is a topic that is NOT new and in fact it's been openly discussed for hundred of years I hope you will find it easier to get rid of some of the more common held misconceptions such as 1) female ejaculation doesn't exist 2) it's 'not normal' to squirt. We would argue that 1) female ejaculation conclusively DOES exist and 2) it's one of the most natural things for a woman to squirt.
